Prom Studio

Prom Studio builds software for Korean elementary schools.

Our product, EasyAfterschool, is a web service for running after-school programs and Neulbom (늘봄) care.

One term in EasyAfterschool

  1. Demand survey
  2. Class planning
  3. Enrollment
  4. Approval and rosters
  5. Attendance
  6. Refunds
  7. Instructor pay
  8. Settlement and close
  9. Audit

Then the next term's demand survey begins, on the same records.

The problem

A school's after-school coordinator repeats the same cycle of work every term. Today the same information is often written in six places:

  • An enrollment program
  • A messaging app
  • Paper attendance sheets
  • A school banking service
  • Spreadsheets
  • The education office's reporting system

When one of them changes, the others drift, and finding the mismatch is left to the coordinator. The hardest part is money: one student's fee can be paid from up to five sources, each with its own rules and annual cap, and holidays or make-up classes change the sessions that set fees, refunds and instructor pay.

EasyAfterschool keeps that whole cycle on one shared record. Parents apply on their phones, instructors record attendance, and the school confirms fees, subsidies, refunds and pay from those same records instead of copying them into another ledger.

School staff
Coordinators run enrollment, attendance and the money. Teachers see students, classes and attendance, and a view-only role lets principals follow along without the money screens.
Instructors
External instructors take attendance on a phone and see only their own classes, schedule and pay.
Parents
Parents sign in with a one-time code sent to their phone, apply for classes, and receive notices and consent forms. Students do not have accounts.

Milestones

Pre-launch. The production service is running and not yet open to schools.

The EasyAfterschool production service goes live.
Enrollment with class capacity and waitlists, attendance confirmation, and item-by-item consent are released to production.
Opening to schools is planned.

Records and privacy

School separation
Each school's records are separated inside the database, not only on screen; one school cannot see another's.
Operator access
As the operator, Prom Studio has no screen that opens a school's student or money records.
Money records
Confirmed amounts are never overwritten or deleted. Each correction is kept as a new revision.
Location
The database and API servers run in Seoul.
